Bubbles World of Play
Full Time Kitchen Manager (12 Month Position)
Are you an experienced kitchen manager looking for a fresh start in a more relaxed and sociable setting?
Join our friendly team at Bubbles’ World of Play, the UK’s largest indoor children’s play centre. We’re looking for a hands-on, motivated Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen during a 12-month maternity cover.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants the best of both worlds – a professional kitchen environment without the usual late nights and high-stress service of a busy restaurant.
Why You'll Lover Working Here:
- Sociable working hours: We close at 6:00pm – no evening or late-night shifts, ever!
- No Friday or Saturday nights
- A calmer kitchen: As a family venue, our pace is busy but much less stressful than a typical restaurant or pub kitchen.
- Modern, well-equipped kitchen designed with comfort and efficiency in mind.
- Work-life balance: Enjoy key holidays off – including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Easter Sunday, with shortened shifts on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
- Staff perks: Paid breaks, free meals and drinks during shifts, and discounts on admissions and parties for you and your family.
The Role:
As Kitchen Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of our kitchen operations – from food quality and safety to staffing and budgeting. You’ll lead by example, maintain high hygiene standards, and ensure an efficient, positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management: Recruit, train and schedule kitchen staff; lead with confidence and develop a strong team culture.
- Food Quality & Safety: Ensure all food is freshly prepared, safely handled, and served to company standards. Maintain all relevant paperwork and checklists.
- Inventory & Ordering: Monitor stock levels, place orders, reduce wastage, and ensure effective stock rotation.
- Budget Management: Keep kitchen spending within budget through smart purchasing and portion control.
- Hygiene & Compliance: Uphold and enforce food hygiene, health and safety policies, ensuring your team is fully compliant.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Stay hands-on in the kitchen, assisting with prep and service during peak periods.
What We're Looking For:
- A proactive leader with previous kitchen management experience
- Level 3 Food Hygiene certified and trained in Allergen Awareness
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A team player who enjoys working in a lively, family-focused environment
If you're ready to run a kitchen where work-life balance and job satisfaction are top priorities, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and bring your skills to a place where your leadership will make a real difference – without the late nights!
